I really can’t stress enough how important it is too add numerous small meals into your diet. Instead of eating 3 large meals per day it’s much better to consume 6 or more small meals throughout the day.

A few months ago my wife’s family and I planned a trip to the beach. We started a nice friendly “biggest loser” contest before we left for the beach. I’m really not that much overweight but decided to get in on the game anyway because I could stand to lose a few pounds. My starting weight was 205 and I wanted to lose about 10 pounds before we left for the beach.

After about 5 weeks I easily lost my 10 pounds, but came in second in the competition. I was still very happy with my progress over the 5 weeks. I followed a healthy diet and tried to do some type of exercise at least 4 days every week.

Now, weeks later I have to admit I’ve lost focus on my healthy diet and only average about 1.5 days per week of exercise. However, I’ve managed to maintain my weight loss over the past few months. I’m convinced it’s because of my eating habits.

I eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast and eat several small meals throughout the day at work. I have protein bar for a morning snack followed by a sandwich and diet cola for lunch. An afternoon snack includes an apple and a cup of yogurt. I try to finish the night with a sensible dinner.

Even though I have skipped exercise many nights I have continued to maintain my weight loss. I’m convinced it’s because I have continued to eat several small meals throughout the day.

If you want to drop a few pounds but don’t have time to exercise you may want to try this technique. You can still eat a good amount of food, just spread it throughout the day instead of large meals. It will help increase your metabolism and burn more calories throughout the day.The Importance of eating small meals in your diet.
